My Story
I started painting just after my 21st birthday when my friends in Sydney gifted me an easel and my grandma sent me some oil paints to try. It was during the lockdown that I pulled them out and realised how much I enjoyed painting.
Being a musician first, I appreciate the way that painting allows me to create something lasting and tangible, while my musical artistry is a sacred living experience that exists in the moment.

My art has been largely shaped by the influence of Nyla, my grandma. An oil painter in her own right, I always loved her European subjects and the gestural brushstrokes she uses. Whilst my own style is more realist, her most notable influence has been in the way I use colour. I like being imaginative in the hues I choose to maintain colour values in my works.
Other influences of mine are the Impressionist style of Claude Monet and Pierre Bonnard's Expressionism. Both artists' works have texture and bold colour that create a depth of gusto and life that I hope to capture within my own works.
My style is most heavily defined by my colour palette. I have always loved blues and purple hues and I enjoy playing off the contrast these colours have to light yellows and bright pastels.
Hue Avenue is a place for me to recreate my client's special memories, whether that be of a pet, place or photo.
